Kennebec River Kayak Adventures

"The Forks Trip"

June thru September (Weekdays only in July and August)

Kennebec River kayaking tripThis guided Maine kayak trip on the Kennebec River starts in the village of “The Forks” We meet at about noon and wait in our canoes or kayaks for the water level to rise with the days release from the dam at Harris station, which is about 12 miles up river. The water will rise about 3 feet in about 15 minutes! The current is fast with easy rips and class 1 rapids for the first 8 miles, then a mile of paddling on beautiful Wyman Lake to the take out in Caratunk. This fun kayak trip is about 10 miles and takes about 3 hours to complete. This is a great trip for learning how to handle a kayak on moving water, the rapids are easy with a few more challenging spots to play in and are fine for beginner and intermediate level of paddlers. We use very stable and maneuverable Old Town Otter and Loon kayaks for these trips. These guided Maine kayak trips include all equipment, a snack and shuttles to and from the river.

Price is $220 for up to four people and $55 for each additional person

If you have some kayaking experience we also offer this trip as a self guided adventure for only $40 per person! We supply all equipment and shuttle to the river, by reservation only.

"The Augusta Trip"

(June thru October)

Kennebec River kayaking tripCanoe or kayak the choice is yours for these fine day trips on the Kennebec River. We start this kayak trip in the town of Sidney and we explore our way downriver to Maine’s capital city of Augusta. Most of this shoreline was under water until just a few years ago when The Edwards Dam in Augusta was removed restoring this section to a free flowing river once again. There is now a slowly moving current with faster current and a few easy rips as we get to the tidal water in Augusta. We often see bald eagles, ducks and ospreys on this trip! This 4 hour guided Maine adventure includes all equipment, snack and shuttle back to your vehicle. This trip is best if we arrive in Augusta near low tide. You can check the times for high and low tides at the following link: www.tide-forecast.com

Price is $240 for up to four people and $60 for each additional person
