Moose River Canoe Trip

This trip meets at our Caratunk office early in the morning. It will take about an hour to travel in our van to our launch site on Holeb Pond. This trip is a favorite for canoe camping in Maine. It is a wonderful mix of beautiful ponds and a small winding river containing flat water, quick water and a few rapids. There is an abundance of wild life along the way. Our first campsite will be near Holeb Falls where there will be a short portage around the falls. We will set up camp and your guide Steve will cook a hearty evening meal. The second night we will camp on Attean Pond. Attean Pond has many island to explore and is very sandy in places and great for swimming! On the third day we will explore Attean Pond and have a picnic lunch on one of the many islands. We will arrive at our take out spot by mid afternoon and should be back at our Caratunk campground office about an hour after that. The majority of this trip is on Maine public reserve land where it is underdeveloped and open to public use. This trip is about 30 miles. All equipment and meals are included. You will just need your own sleeping bag, ground pad and personal items.

The cost of this adventure is $500 per person. All our adventures are based on four guests. If we have fewer than 4 the price will be billed for four people. Please call us for available dates.
